What Is It?

Fiber One Original Bran Cereal

PER SERVING (1/2 cup): 60 calories, 1g fat, 105mg sodium, 25g carbs, 14g fiber, 0g sugars, 2g protein -- PointsPlus® value 2*

"Deliciously simple. With 14 grams of fiber in every half-cup serving, Fiber One Original is an easy way to get more than half of the Daily Value of fiber... With so many delicious ways to add it to every meal, you'll want to make it part of your whole day."

Honestly, what DID we do before we found Fiber One Original? It's more than a great, crunchy, fiber-boosting element in parfaits, snack mixes, and breakfast bowls. It's a MIRACLE ingredient. Read on, humans...
Faux-Frying!

That's right. Our pal Fiber One allows us to whip up swaps for fatty fried favorites. We're gonna break it down into super-simple steps for ya...

1. Place cereal in a blender or food processor and blitz it until reduced to a breadcrumb-like consistency.

2. Season up your crumbs, in a sealable bag or a container with a lid. (Seal and shake to mix!) For something savory, go with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite seasoning blends. For sweets, try no-calorie sweetener, cinnamon, and/or pumpkin pie spice.

3. Coat your food of choice with fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters Original). Give it a shake to remove any excess egg sub, and then evenly coat it with the seasoned cereal crumbs.

4. Place on a baking sheet sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake at 375 degrees until the insides are cooked through and the coating is crunchy, about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Tada!

Our F1 crust has evolved over the years. Here's a version we LOVE!!! Follow the full-on pie recipes linked to below, use it as you would any prebaked pie crust, or just empty a bunch of Mousse Temptations by Jell-O into the thing and grab a spoon (and a few friends)!

Just the Crust
PER SERVING (1/8th of crust): 55 calories, 3g fat, 92mg sodium, 10g carbs, 3.5g fiber, 1.5g sugars, 0.5g protein -- PointsPlus® value 2*

Ingredients:
1 cup Fiber One Original bran cereal
2 sheets (8 crackers) low-fat honey graham crackers, broken into pieces
3 tbsp. Splenda No Calorie Sweetener (granulated)
1/4 cup light whipped butter or light buttery spread (like Brummel & Brown)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray a pie pan lightly with nonstick spray and set aside.

Place cereal and graham cracker pieces in a blender or food processor, and grind to a breadcrumb-like consistency. Transfer to a medium bowl. Add Splenda and set aside.

In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine butter with 2 tbsp. water. Microwave until just melted. Add to the medium bowl and stir contents until thoroughly mixed.

Evenly distribute crust mixture along the bottom of the pie pan, using your hands or a flat utensil to firmly press and form the crust. Press it into the edges and up along the sides of the pan.

Bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. Then fill away!
